2016 Street Bob Rear Tire Size

I have a 07 Streetbob with a 160 rear tyre as standard. I would like to fit a 180 low profile tyre. I have seen this on several bikes but don't know the specific make and type of tyrp used. Would be grateful if anybody out there could tell me?

The SE 180 from HD is designed to fit the Dyna rim so thats what most use.

Thanks for the reply, i know that HD do a 180 tyre but in my experience Harley tyres arent the best and are usually alot more expensive, so i was wondering if there was an after market low profile tyre that would fit on the existing rim.

Dont know if the savings would be that great, I have the factory 180 kit on my 06 Streetbob, it consists of some brackets to keep the wiring tighter to the fender and some button head bolts for the turn signals for more clearance, cant remember if there was anything else though.

The Dunlop Screamin Eagle is the only current 180 tire designed to fit the narrow stock rims. You can get by with just installing the tire, just make sure your signal light wiring is tucked in out of the way.

Here is the 180 Dunlop on mine with kit. They wouldn't replace the tire without it. I have replaced it at 10k if you were looking at life span.

The SE 180 tire is a 60 series vs. the stock 70. Would I be correct to assume that this would mean that the outermost circumference of the SE 60 would be less than that of the stock 160/70? I'm guessing that this SE tire would also slightly reduce the final drive ratio.

Yes but only slightly since the tire is also wider. 4mm difference isnt going to be noticeable.
160/70 = 112mm or 4.41 inches height
180/60 = 108mm or 4.25 inches

I just had the SE 180 put on my bike this morning without the kit and when combined with my SE front tire it handles quite a bit better in the twisty stuff. I have a spreadsheet at work that sez the difference in diameters should make the bike rev 70 rpm higher in 6th at 65mph if my memory serves me correctly.

The Screamin' Eagle front tire is a 502 as well.

nice, thanks! is it wider then the stocker with more agressive tread ? any pics or additional harware like the back? dealer made me install the wide tire kit for the rear 502.

I don't have this tire...it's on Harleys website in accessories/Dyna/security & maintenance/maintenance/tires. It's a stock size 100/90-19.

Tyre Choice
Scuse me for butting in,but have you not considered trying Radial Tyres(eg Continental Road Attack)I started a thread awhile back,& a couple of guys where running them & said they where a big improvement over the standard Bias tyres.I'm going to try them on my FXD.To my admittadly tired old brain,Bias/Cross Ply technology is 30 years out of date(I was using Radials in the 70's)course I could be wrong,according to my wife I always am.But it might be worth checking out.

I don't think anyone makes a 180 radial tire that will fit the stock dyna rim width.

Im running metzeler roadtec z6 tires on my street bob.there sport touring tires..better than those bullshit bias ply tires that have tubes ..Well i shouldnt say there garbage,just not a aggresive riding tire. Im running 180/55/17 rear and 110/80/19 up front. U cant use radial tires if u have laced wheels ..I switched to dyna lowrider wheels.Michelin also has there pilot road tires which my dad is running on hs dyna.
